1-What is the UGC NET exam?
The National Eligibility Test is now known as  NTA-UGC-NET which is conducted twice in a year. The national level test is conducted for determining the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and for Junior Research Fellowship in order to ensure a minimum standard for the entrants of the teaching and research profession. This exam is accepted and considered as the toughest exam of our country.
The test for Junior Research Fellowship was conducted in the year 1984 and the task for conducting the exam was entrusted to UGC dated 22nd July  1988. Since then both tests for assistant professor and junior research fellowship is being conducted every year. The first NET exam was conducted by UGC in the year 1989.
