Founded in 2016, Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) aims to increase the participation of young people in the democratic process and build their capacity to lead change.
About the program 
The Policy in Action Program is designed to give fellows a sneak peek into the policy making process. In each program city, promising candidates are carefully selected, trained and mentored over a period of 5 weeks to explore the fundamentals of policy making and apply the learning to real-life policy problems. Fellows work on pressing issues currently being researched or advocated for by lawmakers and government agencies

Fees for program 
Rs. 15,500 (+ GST @18%)
The fee shall be payable only after an applicant has been selected into the program. In addition to the cost of the program, the fee shall cover lunch and refreshments during the sessions. However, costs of local accommodation and travel shall have to be borne by the applicants themselves. The program is not residential and applicants are expected to make their own arrangements.
 YLAC will offer 50% scholarships to the selected candidates. To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must submit an additional essay explaining how they plan to use the learning from the program and why they need a scholarship to attend. They must also submit contact details of two professors or supervisors at work for reference
