Founded by the first non-European Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Thākur(popularly known as Tagore) in 1921, Visva-Bharati was declared to be a central university and an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament in 1951. The President of India is the Paridarsaka (Visitor) of the University, the Governor of West Bengal is the Pradhana (Rector), and the Prime Minister of India acts as the Acharya (Chancellor). The President of India appoints the Upacharya (Vice-chancellor) of the University.

Seminar Title -

Social Work Intervention with Elderly: Community Engagement, Social Responsibility and Social Work Profession.

Seminar Objective -
 1-To develop awareness on social, economic and health issues related to Ageing and Old Aged Care. 2-To provide a larger national background of issues related to Ageing introduced by demographic and the class changes, and the associated changes in family structure
3-To give a contextual overview of the problems and challenges related to geriatric care in India
4-To review key interventional paradigms, techniques and practices, and to initiate a multistakeholder discussion on resolving the challenges related to ageing.
5-To highlight and locate the scope of social work intervention towards elderly issues and care
6-To provide community-based intervention in the surrounding locality for awareness on Ageing

3- Full Paper Submission: 10th January 2020 Registration: 6thth January onwards, details will be initiated upon acceptance of abstracts.
