Reports Officer

Major duties and responsibilities
In collaboration with the programme sections and the resource mobilization team the incumbent may be assigned the primary, shared, or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties.

Streamlining of office-wide systems and capacity development around donor proposals and reports

  1. Review and proposed improvements to SoPs for donor proposals, and reporting, highlighting work flows and roles and responsibilities
  2. Monitor and track donor proposal pipeline and donor reporting schedule including updating of document repositories and VISION trackers
  3. Elaborate donor proposal and reporting templates for different donor types, including pre-populating templates for different programme areas
  4. Support collective understanding, application and usage of SoPs and templates
  5. Review existing donor reporting assessments to identify areas of weaknesses/ challenges to be addressed
  6. Develop and roll out capacity development plan to address identified weaknesses/challenges
  7. Undertake new donor reporting reviews / assessments as appropriate
  8. Share guidance with sections and Field Offices on booking of expenditure and results planning
  9. Support compliance to conditionalities agreed with donors and a donor reporting feedback mechanism

Support to development and finalization of donor proposals and 

  1. Editing and quality assurance on fundraising proposals in line with the overall Resource Mobilization Strategy, including compilation of information, editing and layout when necessary and adherence to set standards and templates;
  2. Compile, edit and quality assure donor reports in line with donor conditions and original proposals, including liaison with budget team to ensure accurate financial reporting and linkages to narratives; This also includes UNICEF reports such as annual thematic reports as well as donor specific reporting;
  3. Liaise with communication team to ensure inclusion of human-interest material in donor proposals and reports.

A university degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, and Communications, Marketing or a related technical field is required


  1. A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience is required.
  2. Experience working in the UN or other international development organization, and field work experience an asset.
  3. Practical experience in donor proposal and reporting preferable for a UN agency

Language Requirements
Fluency in English. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered as an asset.


  1. The position is based in New Delhi (India).
  2. Selected applicant will have an initial two (2) year fixed-term contract, with possibility of extension, subject to satisfactory performance.
