About the Organization
LEPRA Society is a pan-India health and development organization working for the people affected by Leprosy and other neglected diseases to transform their lives and overcome poverty, discrimination and disability. LEPRA endeavors to diagnose, facilitate treatment to those affected and help them to rehabilitate into the mainstream of the society. LEPRA works in collaborations with the Government and other funding agencies to reach into most inaccessible villages of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh states.

The position will be responsible for planning, monitoring and evaluation of all programmatic and community outreach projects pertaining to the eye care portfolio of Odisha state; Identify and introduce new strategic choices for achieving optimum results; Supervise projects, develop monthly implementation plans, review and advice the relevant teams for improvements and course correction; Undertake field visits to assess the progress and carry out internal project evaluation at periodic intervals. The incumbent will initiate project conceptualization and grants acquisition to further the aims of the Mahanadi and Junagarh Eye Hospitals. Donor relations will be an important tasks in fulfilling your role.

The position will be for six months initially and is likely to continued depending on funding availability

Job Duties And Responsibilities
Planning:

  1. Develop overall and intermittent plans as per the project objectives.
  2. Support the projects to develop micro level action plans
  3. Identify and introduce new strategic choices for achieving optimum results.
  4. Support plans under the respective project to develop monthly implementation plans, review the same on a monthly basis and improve the same.
  5. Carry out overall financial planning and support the projects to do the same.
  6. Support the organization for human resource planning with regard to concerned projects.
  7. Maintain donor relations and ensure donor compliance including visibility and reporting

Monitoring:

  1. Monitor the smooth implementation of activities of projects.
  2. Support the project teams in monitoring different project activities.
  3. Conduct periodic planning and review meetings.
  4. Develop various reporting formats to help the projects for systematic reporting.
  5. Carry out field visits to assess the progress of programme implementation.
  6. Apprise the State Coordinator on the progress of implementation of the project.
  7. Monitor the project on the budget utilization.

Evaluation:

  1. Carry out internal evaluation at regular intervals of the projects.
  2. Support the external evaluation team to assess programme implementation at the projects.
  3. Provide timely feedback on the project evaluation and its findings.
  4. Carry out timely corrective measures based on the evaluation report and ensure quality of service in the programme implementation.

Documentation:
Ensure generation and timely submission of quality reports to the funding agencies as per schedule specified in the proposal.

General Activities:

  1. Support JNC to enter into MOUs with District administrations for smooth implementation of the project activities.
  2. Develop rapport with the other stakeholders at state and district level.
  3. Assess the training needs of the staff and arrange for necessary trainings in discussion with State Coordinator
  4. Review periodically the achievements of projects in relation to action plans and submit reports to State Office.
  5. Analyze monthly, quarterly data of projects and update State Coordinator on the same.

Eligibility

  1. Post Graduate Degree in Public Health / Social work / Social Sciences from a recognized university. Candidates with Diploma in Project/General Management will be preferred.
  2. At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in Senior / Mid managerial level in NGO’s / INGO’s; Preferred working experience in Eye care projects/programmes
  3. Must be pro-active in job approach and mature in dealing with people

Skills

  1. Planning , Monitoring & Evaluation of the project
  2. Familiarity with techniques of Monitoring & Evaluation; capable of producing clear , cogent and well thought out documents in English
  3. Ability to write project proposals for various donors
  4. Support the project to develop micro level action plans
  5. Ability to identify and introduce new strategic choices for achieving optimum results
  6. Ability to plan activities, prioritize schedules and review performance against objectives to achieve project goals.
  7. Excellent Verbal and written communication skills in English; Working knowledge of local language
  8. Good data management and analyzing skills

Gross Salary: Rs. 35,000 per month ( Eligible for staff benefits applicable to the cadre)
