The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur or IIT-KGP) is a public institution established by the government of India in 1951. It is the first of the IITs to be established and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.

The institute was initially established as part to train scientists and engineers after India attained independence in 1947. However, over the years, the institute’s academic capabilities diversified with offerings in management, law, architecture, humanities, etc. IIT Kharagpur has an 8.5 square kilometers (2,100 acres) campus and has about 22,000 residents. The students and alumni of IIT Kharagpur are informally referred to as KGPians.

IIT Kharagpur invites applications for the post of JRF and SRF.

Climate and Variability Over the Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica using a High-Resolution Regional Climate Model(CVL).

Junior Research Fellowship/Senior Research Fellowship – Research

Eligibility
For JRF: Masters’ degree (M.Sc with valid GATE/NET or MS/M.TECH) in Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences/Oceanography/Marine Science/Climate Science/Physics/Mathematics or other related fields from a recognized university/institute with more than 60% marks

SRF – Same as JRF with two years of research experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in atmospheric/ocean modeling and handling/analyzing climate datasets, and with valid GATE/NET score.
