Assistant Programme Manager- Project JEET

About the Project
LEPRA Society in partnership with Centre for Health Research Initiatives (CHRI) is implementing project “Joint Effort for Eliminating TB (JEET)” for patients seeking care in private sector in the districts of Allahabad, Varanasi, Jaunpur and Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh State. The objective of the project is to set up effective and sustainable structures to strengthen existing systems and seamlessly extend quality TB care to patients seeking care in private sector.

Job Description
The position will be primarily responsible for providing programmatic and operational support to the Operation Managers of four districts; to act as an interface between CHRI and project team; to bring in quality of work; develop and strengthen linkages with State Programme Management Unit (SPMU) and other stake holders. The position will be reporting to Project Director, JEET project.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage the LEPRA district team (Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Jaunpur & Allahabad) in implementation of the project activities as per the JEET guidelines and action plan.
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain sound organizational practices
  3. Provide timely support to the district teams to identify and resolve programmatic and operational issues.
  4. Provide technical and managerial inputs to Operational Managers’ whenever needed and ensure accountability through periodic monitoring and mentoring.
  5. Motivate staff and bring in team spirits for better outcomes.
  6. Establish good networking, coordination, communication with Senior FO, FOs in the LEPRA districts.
  7. Identify the gap and provide technical inputs and capacity building of project staff, government and private health workers.
  8. Analysis of data and ensure timely reporting to all level (daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly). Plan and attend the monthly meeting with team, DTO and PR visit.
  9. Manage the strategic aspects of stakeholder and donor engagements and mitigate any risk
  10. Establish linkages and strengthen networking and liasoning with government health departments & private service providers and other stake holders to foster support for effective implementation of project deliverables.
  11. Need base field visit to all LEPRA allotted districts
  12. Facilitate in monitoring and periodic review of partnerships with different stake holders
  13. Monitor and periodically assess the project performance and staff performance against the key performance areas
  14. Submit reports and participate in national/state level reviews periodically as per project requirement
  15. Ensure submission of periodical reports (programmatic and financial) as per LEPRA and donor requirements
  16. Ensure confidentiality and security of the information
  17. To be a point person for programmatic communications to the Project Director and CHRI.
  18. Any other functions, which will be entrusted from time to time as per project requirement.

Qualification and Experience

  1. Master’s degree in Public Health/ Social work/ Social Sciences from a recognized institution
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project planning and management; capacity building; monitoring programme performance and donor compliance
  3. Preferred working experience in TB program, GFATM projects or public and private engagement health program.

Remuneration
Rs.50, 000 (CTC) per month.
