The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in Ludhiana, Punjab is a state agricultural university in India. It was established in 1962 and is the nation’s third-oldest agricultural university. It was formally inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on July 8, 1963. It has an international reputation for excellence in agriculture.

PAU pioneered the Green Revolution in India in the 1960s and is considered as one of the best agricultural universities in India.


1. B.Sc. with a minimum OGPA 6.00/10.00 basis or 60% marks.
2. M.Sc. in Agricultural Meteorology/ Agronomy OCPA 6.50/10.00 basis or 65% marks

The Candidate who does not possess Master’s Degree in the relevant subject but possesses Ph.D Degree in the discipline at Master’s level, shall be eligible for the post. Preference will be given to the candidate who possesses the degree in the discipline of Agricultural Meteorology.

Monthly Fellowship
Rs. 25000
The amount of first full month fellowship payable to the Young Professional-II will be kept as security with Head, Deptt of Climate Change & Agricultural Meteorology and it will be paid to him/her as and when he/she leaves the fellowship after giving the requisite one month’s notice or deposits the amount of one month’s fellowship. The Junior Research Fellow when resigning the fellowship shall have to give one months’ notice or have to deposit one month salary in lieu of one month notice.

Tenure- 6 Months
