The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun invites applications from Indian nationals for a Project Fellow under the project entitled “Mangrove responses to sea-level change along a gradient of tectonic subduction A multidisciplinary approach” purely on a contractual basis.

Post Details
  1. Name of the post: Project Fellow
  2. No. of Position: One
  3. Duration: 1 year (extendable up to 3-year depending upon the performance of the candidate)
  4. Funding Agency: Department of Science & Technology, India

  1. First Class Master’s degree in Botany/Zoology/Wildlife Sciences/Marine Biology/Life sciences or allied disciplines.
  2. Minimum one-year experience of field research on coastal biodiversity or plant ecology
  3. Knowledge of GIS and Data analysis in R statistics
  4. Skills in scientific communication proven by publication(s) in peer-reviewed journal
  5. Enthusiasm to work in remote islands of Andaman & Nicobar
  6. Age limit for the position is 28 years but age relaxation will be considered as per Government of India norms for reserved category candidates

Work Experience
  1. Work involves extensive travel and data collection in the Andaman & Nicobar islands on mangrove biodiversity related to sea-level change
  2. The candidate will conduct field research, data collection, data analysis and preparation of scientific papers
  3. The candidate will have to be physically fit for working in the coastal areas of the remote islands with limited logistics
