The Program Associate fosters engagement across a program team, has a high-level view of how the grantmaking of individual program officers on a team contribute to the team’s strategic outcomes, and encourages learning and evaluative thinking across the team. In addition to supporting the needs of their team, Program Associates also play a role in identifying cross-programmatic learning opportunities in collaboration with the Office of Strategy and Learning (OSL).
It is the foundation’s core mission to address inequality in all its forms. The work around the world is intended to disrupt the persistent drivers of inequality and advance a more just world committed to the dignity of every person.  In India, the focus is on two specific strategies: women’s safety in informal work in public spaces and ensuring living incomes for farmers. These are two of the biggest challenges facing our region today. These bodies of work align with two of the foundation’s global themes; Gender Race and Ethnic Justice, and Civic Engagement and Government.  The foundation is committed to supporting communities, movements and leaders who are working on the frontlines of social change to create a more just and equitable world.

1-3-5 years’ experience working in program related support capacity in social development sector.
2-A bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
3-Fluency in English. Working knowledge of a language spoken in the region desired
4-Strong proficiency with data collection, review, analysis and reporting.
5-Strong proficiency with the use of software platforms and high degree of comfort with multiple technology applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and databases. Exceptional organizational and communications skills.
6-Client-service orientation
7-Demonstrated ability to work successfully in multi-faceted, multitasking environment.
8-Demonstrated ability to be a productive member of a community of people at work, respecting differences while working toward shared goals, comfort with periods of ambiguity, constructive participation in ongoing organizational development.
9-Diversity of experience working with a range of actors, which could include government, multi-lateral institutions, think tanks / universities, consultancy firms, civil society, NGOs, networks and the private sector
10-Implementation and/or research experience related to advancing social outcomes
11-Knowledge of national and sub-national policies/initiatives, which would be useful to advance both our Regional Office priorities and the more global priorities of the foundation.
1-This position is primarily a sedentary role. However, the person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with internal staff, access files, office machinery and a copy machine/printer.
