Internship at Global Peace Foundation

About
Founded in 2009, Global Peace Foundation (GPF) is an international non-sectarian, non-partisan, nonprofit organization, which promotes an innovative, values-based approach to peacebuilding, guided by the vision of One Family under God.  GPF engages and organizes a global network of public and private sector partners who develop community, national and regional peacebuilding models as the foundation for ethical and cohesive societies.

Connecting the Dots is an attempt to build social cohesion and peace in societies and communities by engaging the youth in meaningful activities. These activities have been designed in such a way that the participants belonging from different backgrounds will be given a platform to work together for peacebuilding irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, race, class etc. Working with communities has become a central part of the Peacebuilding, but it has not always been this way. Peacebuilding activities of the Global Peace Foundation India has brought together youth from different backgrounds and communities to create play and work with each other. In order to make the peacebuilding activities more efficient, “Connecting the Dots” is an attempt to make it a consistent part of youth’s lives. In response to this insight, Global Peace Foundation India has developed a one-month curriculum for young participants about peacebuilding. Peacebuilding is a complex and sometimes fragile combination of knowledge, skills, relationships and opportunities. Like other important life skills, peacebuilding must be taught, because it is a remedy to the violence that youth learn from the larger society, and because it is critical to the health of our communities in the future.
