Position Summary

The Intern will work closely with the Partnership Team in the city towards improving our communication with key stakeholders, building and strengthening more partnerships towards meeting our goals in the region.

Team Overview

The City Operations Team in Bengaluru leads the efforts of Teach for India towards achieving educational equity in the city and region at large. As we enter Phase 3 (2017-22) of our work, being part of the City Operations Team will provide you an opportunity to co-create Teach for India’s role in the region over the next 5 years.  The focus will be on student impact both at a school and system level through a collective contextualized approach that maximizes impact. You will be part of a passionate, eager to learn and committed team of 90 Fellows,19 staff members and more than 300 Alumni working together towards maximizing opportunities and outcomes for children in education and related areas.

The Team equips the Fellows with the right competencies towards driving learning in all our classrooms.  It also collaborates with Alumni across individuals and organizations towards collective impact in the city.  The Team also drives and leverages a wide network of partnerships with Government, Schools, Colleges, Corporates, Other NGOs, Media and Individuals to build and sustain the movement in the city. These partnerships form the foundation of growth and success of the Fellows and help them metamorphose into future leaders of the country.


Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of this role include -
  • Capturing the leadership journey of Fellows and students
Reaching out to the Fellows in the city to capture their journey, progress made in the classrooms, students’ information, projects running in the school and other important data for reporting.
  • Interaction with cross-functional teams
Getting in touch with the program team in the city and development team members of other cities to acquire the relevant data required for reporting process.
  • Stakeholder communication
Designing reports and newsletters to communicate the city’s progress to our diverse set of stakeholders.

Knowledge and Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience in MS-Office (preferably MS Excel, MS Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge/Interest in working with Google Slides and Google sheets (or relevant cloud-based platforms)
  • Experience or know-how of working with graphic design tools (Photoshop, InDesign, CorelDraw)
