Should You Love Your Job or the organizaton ?

Very often you and I are coming across of this saying of  Dr.APJ Abdul Kalm at the different occasion of our life. Some of us may not have taken this saying very seriously. However, the saying indeed carries the message of awareness. If we seriously look at this statement from all perspective it offers scope for many interpretations but I am not going to discuss it from all the perspective. If you are serious about this read it till this ends. I feel of discussing this from the side of an employer and an employee.



Employer Perspective
The organization always expects from its employees to abide by the policy of the organization and one should be committed, faithful, responsible, performer, and an employee of result-driven. The employer may not consider those who fail to exhibit and meet pre-defined expectations. However, there are different standards of expectation of different organizations you may take those into your analysis. What I am trying to explain here is that an employer does not love you for who you are but it needs you for what you are.
Every organization or company stands for its objectives, and it never compromises on anything from achieving it's objectives no matter you be in the organization or leave the organization. Hence every organization wants its employees must love and serve the organization.



It does not matter for any of the organization in what circumstance you are in but it matters for your organization how you are working for it. Companies do not establish a personal relationship with an employee hence it does not understand you as a person but merely treats you as an employee.

Employee Perspective
An employee is someone who sells service and knowledge to an organization with the organization's terms and condition. Every employee enters into the organization with the expectation of a good salary, promotion, recognition, good working environment, rewards, appreciation, and lasting career. And employees make every attempt to be instrumental for the organization with all of his/her abilities. As the days pass on the employee start receiving additional work responsibilities, more new assignments, and defined deadlines. Now the employee has to deal  with all the complex workload with the same time frame, but it is not possible to manage all the work within the less time hence the employee spends more time for it, gradually he/she realizes that the working hours are automatically increased and the employee slowly habituated of spending more hours for the organization. On this process, he/she forgets that there is life beyond the organization when they realize they see that unwanted social problems are already raised.   Now the employee experiences more complex life and it seems difficult for them to deal with both, but they continue to struggle. 



On a fine day, the organization asks the employee to leave the job, because of some reasons. Now the employee gets shocked and might think that "I served the organization for a long time with all dedication, despite my long association they ask me to leave". When the employee opens the eyes he/she realizes that time has already changed and according to the change they did not upgrade themselves now the employee develops a tendency of insecurity.

let's understand it, as long an employee makes an organization happy the expectation may be fulfilled. There are an organization or company that never appreciate or acknowledge the contribution or performance of the employee no matter how big an employee has done for the organization. On the other hand, there are employees who are not doing good in the organization but have so many expectations. In fact, the organization provides an opportunity for an employee to earn and grow. However, the success of the employee is directly corresponding to the contribution of the organization which is can not be denied.

On this brief analysis I leave the final validation unto you to decide, should you love your job or the organization.
